Throwback June 2015: Our stay at the world famous Atlanta Marriott Marquis

On June 21, 2015, I stayed at the WORLD FAMOUS Marriott Marquis hotel in Downtown Atlanta, GA. Shortly after check in, we got upgraded to a presidential suite on the 46th floor. As I went up the elevator, a couple of floors were covered in black as this hotel was undergoing renovations. The top floor is one floor away – the 47th. As I got down the elevator, I got to tour around the hotel lobby and the beautiful atrium. Later, we went up to the 42nd floor to the Concierge Lounge.

Later after dinner at Hard Rock across the street from the Westin Peachtree Plaza, I got to do an elevator tour around the Marriott Marquis. I saw that the elevator modernization was in progress during our stay. I took my first and final rides of the original Otis Elevonic 401 elevator system before they got modernized.

The next morning, I went to the Hyatt Regency to ride the glass elevator and to the Hilton to ride the glass elevator (Where DieselDucy filmed his first video in 1993). Unfortunately I don’t have the elevator video at the Hilton Atlanta.

Overall, I had an amazing stay. The glass elevators were awesome, epic, and fun to ride.
