This is a tutorial showing you how to build a piston-less elevator in Minecraft using water, soul sand, and magma blocks.

First, create some walls, then add some water (Remember: Water must be placed at every block of the hole so that bubbles come out from soul sand and magma blocks) and some signs on the first floor so that water won’t come out of the elevator. You’ll also need a command block to to flip the direction of the elevator.

Here are the commands listed below.

First floor: /setblock ~ -1 ~ soul_sand

Second floor: /setblock ~ ~1 ~ magma_block
